Serving for over 60 years

SINCE 1958, the Kiwanis Club of Lakeshore Montreal has been providing an important service in the communities of Montreal’s West Island. We are one of the more than 7,000 Clubs of Kiwanis International with close to 200,000 members which has been around for over one hundred years.

We are a very active and dynamic service club with members from the private, public and voluntary sectors; the Club has a focus on supporting non-profit community organizations for children and youth. Through our partner network of non-profit organizations we are able to help at-risk youth, the development of confidence and life skills in children; the pursuit of the performing arts and we proudly provide educational bursaries and coaching of Special Olympics Bowling. We also provide support to help children coping with a loss, coping with food and housing security challenges, and we also provide entertainment for our Veterans and help to provide a wide range of support for people living with intellectual handicaps.

To accomplish all this requires thousands of volunteer hours from our dedicated members and friends as well as financial support from the public. We raise funds annually through a variety of events and initiatives, including long running high profile fundraising projects such as our trademark Christmas Nuts & Cakes Sale and our ever popular Golf Tournament. Our newest additions are our online Charity Auctions and the Kiwanis Lakeshore Montreal 50-50 Raffle.

Last year alone, we proudly donated over seventy thousand dollars ($70,000+) to over twenty worthy organizations. Our focus as Kiwanians is to put children first and to support service projects in the community. We can only achieve success with the ongoing involvement and commitment of our members and donors at the base, our community as our field of action and our member organizations who serve the children.

"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has."

- Margaret Mead
