AVATIL

Marjie has been the President of AVATIL for the last 7 years and an AVATIL board member for 27 years. She is now retired but worked for 25 years as a public health nurse for the CLSC Pierrefonds.

Marjie has a 47 year old son who has mild cerebral palsy and some intellectual challenges. He has been with AVATIL since he was 15 years old. He has benefitted from all the different AVATIL social groups over the years as well as the live-in program that prepared him to live on his own in the community. He continues to receive weekly support from his AVATIL counsellor who helps him to manage his finances.

Because of her personal experience with AVATIL she knows what a great support the Kiwanis Club of Lakeshore Montreal has been over many years. On behalf of the AVATIL community she would like us to know how much they appreciate our interest in and support of AVATIL.
