Meghan Harnum (MA, ATPQ), Nova West Island

Carousel Bereavement Program

For more than twenty years, NOVA West Island’s Carousel Bereavement Program has been offering free support to children and youth aged 6 to 17 who are grieving.

Led by a skilled counselor, the program provides a safe and supportive environment where participants can explore their emotions, process their grief, and develop coping strategies. Designed to provide holistic support, the program addresses emotional, social, and psychological needs, helping participants navigate the challenges of loss and change.

Meghan Harnum (MA, ATPQ)
Program Coordinator

Meghan is a dedicated professional art therapist with a certificate in Children’s Grief and Bereavement. Passionate about grief literacy advocacy, she was first introduced to the topics of death, dying, and bereavement during an art therapy internship on the palliative care floor at the Jewish General Hospital, where she helped to support patients and families through the end-of-life process.

In her current role as the Carousel Bereavement Program Coordinator at NOVA, Meghan uses creative expression as a tool to help guide young people along their grief journeys. Her mission is to help participants honor their loved ones, process their emotions, and take meaningful steps toward emotional well-being.
