I have been working in educational savings for almost 10 years. It is with passion and enthusiasm that I help to support young families to obtain the amazing benefits of the Registered Education Savings Plan (RESP). Having been inspired by CST Foundation’s mission, I am convinced that education is an essential tool for individuals, families and community well-being. I wish that all Canadian children have the financial means to achieve their future dreams and that money is never a roadblock to further one’s education.
My early career was dedicated to a completely different professional path having worked more than 20 years both on screen and on the stage as an actress and as a host. Throughout my career, I developed skills in human resource development and used acting as a tool for communication. This expertise brought me to work as a HR consultant for a firm that provided staff replacement for financial institutions. That is when, as a single mom of a 4 year old, I discovered education savings! I was referred to a CST Savings representative and was so impressed both by the program and by the passion of the person I met, that I decided to redirect my career!
I feel reassured to have my own RESP for my son and I wish to offer this opportunity to as many families as possible from every social and ethnic background. CST Savings is the pioneer in education savings and started the very first one 63 years ago. It contributed to the start of the government grants and the flexibility provided in the use of those grants to help further one’s education. I am very proud to carry the torch of such a great organization that has helped more than 800 000 young people to reach their educational and career goals.
