Terry DiMonteTerry DiMonte, Montreal’s favorite Morning Man has celebrated more than 30 years on radio, as morning man on CHOM FM he has a huge audience and says “I’ve always felt that the studio armchair came with a responsibility to be involved in the community and to give back to the community – even if I can’t make it out on most nights” - (Bill Brownstein of the Montreal Gazette)

Terry has played an active role in community organizations as Sun Youth and the Missing Children’s Network. We are extremely proud to have Terry as our Guest of Honour at the 20th anniversary of our club’s Annual Golf tournament, our signature fund raising event of the year, with funds going into the $100,000 in donations that we now give to worthy community organizations annually!

Mid-Summer Soirée 2017

The 2017 edition of the Mid-Summer Soirée has come and gone. Many thanks to all who joined us on September 13th at Stewart Hall, we hope you enjoyed yourselves and learned a little about our club along the way.

We were thrilled to have well known comedian and humanitarian Joey Elias as our emcee for the second consecutive. He was wonderful, engaging with the crowd and offering some well-placed quips; we were lucky to have him. The music was also terrific.

We were thrilled to have representatives from some of our main beneficiaries on hand to elaborate on their experiences with our club. Thank you to NOVA’s Marie-France Juneau, WIAIH’s Lyne Charlebois, OWTA's Akilah Newton and 60 million girls' Wanda Bedard.

President George Frenette emphasized the evening's primary goal: we are looking for new members and volunteers who are ready to roll up their sleeves and give back to our community. We invite all attendees, and all other good intentioned West Islanders, to join us for lunch or dinner meeting to learn more.

It goes without saying that this event could not have taken place without the direction of our organizing committee, our volunteers and sponsors. Special thanks to photographer Lawrence Clemen and IGA Marché Toppetta.

Thanks again to all who attended. We hope to see you again next year!

60th Anniversary Celebration

60 years and counting! In May 2018, the Kiwanis Club of Lakeshore Montreal celebrated it’s anniversary by hosting a gala evening commemorating its 60 years of service in our communities.

Held at the prestigious Beaconsfield Golf Club, the evening gathered Kiwanians and many important members of the community together for an evening of dinner, dancing, and fun!

President Christian Aubert directed the evening’s proceedings and Immediate Past Governor Phil Rossy shared the podium for several items on the agenda, including the surprise induction of several new members to the club: Gilles Talbot, Sylvie DeRepentigny, and Jag Narasimhadevara. He also proudly introduced the recipients of the evening’s chief honour, calling long-standing members Jacques Dubuc and Peter Bedard to the stage to recognize their respective 60 and 55 years of service. Truly remarkable accomplishments!

The night would not be complete without a trip down memory lane, with a corner of the room dedicated to photos, news clippings and other artifacts from the club’s past.

It truly was a night to remember.

The club wishes to thank the Beaconsfield Golf Club; musicians from Brian Harbec; special guests Phil Rossy (Immediate Past Governor), Roger Hamel (Lieutenant Governor), and Jacques Brault (Past Lieutenant Governor); and volunteers from AJOI, Logan di Giovanni and Patrick Levesque.

Thank you as well to the organizing committee: Christian Aubert, Allan Battah, Peter Bedard, Andrew De Four, Ron Della Porta, Jacques Dubuc, George Frenette, Jag Narasimhadevara, Peter Nauth, Akilah Newton, Janice Schneider, Mike Somma, Leonard Stern and Gilles Talbot.

And of course, a special thank you to all those who have supported, and continue to support our club, over the past 60 years. Over the years we have donated over $2,500,000 in support of children and community services - none of this would be possible without you.
