The 2017 edition of the Mid-Summer Soirée has come and gone. Many thanks to all who joined us on September 13th at Stewart Hall, we hope you enjoyed yourselves and learned a little about our club along the way.
We were thrilled to have well known comedian and humanitarian Joey Elias as our emcee for the second consecutive. He was wonderful, engaging with the crowd and offering some well-placed quips; we were lucky to have him. The music was also terrific.
We were thrilled to have representatives from some of our main beneficiaries on hand to elaborate on their experiences with our club. Thank you to NOVA’s Marie-France Juneau, WIAIH’s Lyne Charlebois, OWTA's Akilah Newton and 60 million girls' Wanda Bedard.
President George Frenette emphasized the evening's primary goal: we are looking for new members and volunteers who are ready to roll up their sleeves and give back to our community. We invite all attendees, and all other good intentioned West Islanders, to join us for lunch or dinner meeting to learn more.
It goes without saying that this event could not have taken place without the direction of our organizing committee, our volunteers and sponsors. Special thanks to photographer Lawrence Clemen and IGA Marché Toppetta.
Thanks again to all who attended. We hope to see you again next year!
